Rosh Hashanah Braised Brisket

A tender and delicious brisket, delicately braised in red wine, honey, and a few other simple ingredients. This is an easy one for your Rosh Hashanah menu!

Heat olive oil in a large pot. Add the onion, along with a pinch of salt and pepper, and sauté until soft and translucent, about 7 minutes. Add the red wine and deglaze the pan. Add the crushed tomatoes, honey and paprika. Bring to a simmer, add the meat and cover. Continue cooking at a simmer until the meat is fork tender, about 2 1/2 – 3 hours.
