Easy Sesame Ginger Rice

Flavorful and healthy sesame ginger rice that you can prepare in a pinch. This dish is a great way to use leftover rice and take in some extra veggies – feel free to add your favorites!

I also like to add a dash more sesame oil at the end of cooking for an added boost of flavor.



  • 1 cup brown rice, cooked
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 bell pepper, diced
  • Handful green peas
  • Salt
  • Pepper


Heat both oils in a large pan. Add the ginger and garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the diced pepper, a pinch of salt and pepper, and cook until slightly soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add the green peas and cooked rice and stir to incorporate (and heat the rice through if cold). Taste for salt and adjust to your liking. You can also add a dash more sesame oil if desired.
