Perfect Brasied Brisket

Cooking a perfect brisket doesn’t have to involve many steps and ingredients. Sometimes, the simpler, the better, which is definitely the case with this brisket. The braising method and simple ingredients heightens the flavor of the meat and creates a super tender brisket – and lots of sauce yummmm!



  • 3 lb brisket
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 15 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp paprika


Heat oil in a pot, add the onion and salt and pepper. Saut̩ until translucent, about 7 minutes. Add the wine and deglaze, then add the crushed tomatoes and paprika. Bring to a simmer, add the brisket and cover. Continue simmering until meat is tender, about two and a half Рthree hours.
