Homemade Apple Sauce or Pear Puree

Homemade fruit purees are easier to prepare than you might think. It’s one of the healthiest choices for babies and often more cost effective. You can prep a few purees for the week at once to save time.



  • 2 apples or 1 green pear, diced
  • 1/4 cup water


Place apple or pear and water in a small pot. Cover, bring to a boil. Lower the heat, and cook, simmering for 10 minutes.

Blend fruit and water together until you reach a smooth consistency. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days.
