Mediterranean Spiced Meat Flatbread

This is an all-around fun and quick recipe that you can pretty much use for anything. It can be a substantial part of your appetizer course, served with dips, salads and extra bread, part of a meal you’re hosting, or a seriously fast weeknight dinner – especially awesome for kids who will be excited that there is “meat pizza” for dinner.

For the Spiced Meat:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 34 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 12 tsp cumin
  • 18 tsp ground allspice
  • 18 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 18 tsp paprika
  • 14 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 flatbreads
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 14 cup mayo
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp garlic powder
  • 14 tsp ground black pepper

Heat oil in a pan, add ground beef and cook, breaking up the meat into small crumbles, until the meat is brown and full cooked. Drain excess liquid (that the meat gave off while cooking). Add the spices and mix, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fully incorporated and aromatic.

Mix together the sauce ingredients and spread it over the flatbreads. It doesn’t need to cover the entire flatbread, but it will help the beef stick to the flatbread when you cut and plate it. Distribute the cooked beef onto the flatbreads, and carefully cut into 1″ – 1 12” strips. Transfer to a platter and garnish with chopped parsley.
