Perfect Baked Ziti

We all need that perfect goooooey, cheeeeeesy and eeeaaasyyy pasta. You know, the one that you’re excited about ALL DAY when you know it’s for supper. It can easily be made in advance – see the note below the recipe for how to cook. Yum! Enjoy!


  • 1 lb pasta
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • One 25 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced (optional)


Preheat oven to 350. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain, and add to a 9×11 baking dish. Mix in the shredded cheese, ricotta and sauce. Mix well. Place fresh mozzarella slices on top if using. Cover with a lid or foil and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 45 minutes.

*Make it ahead of time: This is one of my favorite suppers to prepare in advance. Follow the instructions through mixing and covering tightly. Then refrigerate. Preheat the oven about an hour and 10 minutes before ready to eat, and remove the pasta from the refrigerator. Bake for 1 hour.
